Whose Fault Was It?

The picture shows how we imagine it, but was Eve alone with the serpent? Did Eve succumb to temptation and then tempt Adam, or did Adam fail to protect Eve and the Garden from the Serpent?

What are the Differences in Gender Roles in Scripture? Jerry Bowyer with John Hall and Kathy Emmons (christianoutlook.com) deals with question, and it is well worth considering how it does so. In fact, The Christian Outlook is a good site to visit on a regular basis.

Now consider what the Apostle Paul had to say about Eve.

2 Corinthians 11:3 New King James Version (NKJV)

3 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

We can choose to be deceived. We may be told the Truth and still not want to believe. God spoke directly to Adam, and Adam still did not believe God.

Abraham was saved because of the sacrifice of Christ Jesus, and because he believed God (Genesis 15:6).
